The Billing Process:
- Step 1 of 7.
Schedule a consultation to discuss and confirm the client's decision. Service appointments are set after the client receives the insurance decision.
- Step 2 of 7.
Provide the client with a referral link to access the MTBS Patient Information and HIPAA Authorization Form online. The client completes the MTBS online form and uploads insurance documents.
- Step 3 of 7.
Some insurers require two to three approval processes. MTBS manages every step, appealing decisions when necessary. We negotiate payment at the time of approval, maximizing reimbursement for your services.
- Step 4 of 7.
The client schedules appointments with you. MTBS handles 100% of billing. If there's a deductible or co-pay, the client receives an invoice for pre-payment, due five days before each appointment to prevent cancellation. Note: You don't manage the payment process.
- Step 5 of 7.
The client receives the scheduled service from the Medical Tattoo Artist.
- Step 6 of 7.
The Artist submits two brief online forms, which MTBS uses to create and submit a claim for the service provided.
- Step 7 of 7.
We handle the claim process until payment is received. Every claim is individual, so we do not quote a timeline: the fastest we have moved a claim through was 14 days, and some have taken over three years. MTBS retains 25-35% of the reimbursement and deposits the remaining 65-75% into the artist's bank account.
